Nice to meet you.

I like creating scalable, accessible, and measurable services as a force for good and to make a difference; the combination of good design, and empathy for end users is what makes me want to do my best work.

How I got started in service design

My journey into service design has been an evolution through a range of design disciplines. My story begins with my return to study design communications in the late 1990's, graduating with distinction. After an initial stint as a graphic designer in NHS health promotion, I quickly built a career in digital. Roles progressed from web and content designer, digital services manager, senior UX designer, head of UX, and now service design lead. I've worked for some of the largest organisations in the UK, to digital start-ups and award winning creative digital consultancies. I completed and gained a distinction for a Masters in Design Management, where my focus was UX theory, methodology, principles and practice, to augment my career journey.

What I've been working on

I’m currently working on a high profile digital transformation programme to develop user-centred products that underpin screening services and deliver a better experience and outcomes for patients.

I work strategically as part of a multidisciplinary, agile team to baseline current services and develop the to-be future state, in order to create sustainable solutions and an optimal experience for the public, staff, and secondary users of our services.

What motivates me

I’m driven by a desire to do the hard work to make services easier for the user.
